We absolutely loved it!! What is not to love about this fanstastic place to swim, have fun & relax! Alpamare is the perfect destination for all water lovers of any age! It is the perfect temperature throughout, the pools, poolside and changing areas are perfectly heated, It was spotlessly clean throughout, from the moment we parked up to the moment we left the whole experience was excellent and we already cannot wait to return when we visit Scarborough again!

Alpamare is a must visit attraction and an excellent family treat. I say treat because presumably your planning on visiting whilst on holiday or visiting for the day and the pricing is ‘higher’ than your usual Swimming facilities elsewhere but please do not be put off by this as the saying goes…. you get what you pay for and this certainly is the case for Alpamare. So you are probably wondering why it’s so different to your local council swimming pools and I can’t wait to tell you why it’s a Waterpark from another world.

Upon arriving we were greeted by a lovely lady who explained the experience to us, you get 4 hours included in the price and if you want to stay longer it’s an extra £1 per half hour. Upon entering you receive a wristband which is used to control your lockers so there’s no need to bring £1 for everyone. Your Adult wristband also comes with £50 credit & a Child wristband comes with £20, this is so you don’t have to carry any cash around the park. Should you wish to dine, purchase any drinks or snacks in the park then your wristband will be scanned and then you will be charged on departure.

There are plenty of places to sit, relax and enjoy the beautiful gardens and scenery of the Scarboroughs Sea in the background. With seating opportunities inside and outdoors for those beautiful sunny days.

Our favourite part of Alpamare had to be the two beautiful outdoor heated pools. The temperature was perfect 36 degrees to be precise. The pools had recliners with bubbles it was so relaxing and yet again it was suitable for people of all ages.

There are plenty sun loungers around so take your towels outside and if your lucky and get a nice day or just brave when it’s slightly chilly you can relax outside and take a dip as and when you like, it felt like we were abroad relaxing on a nice holiday!

As much as I loved the outdoor pools the inside pool was also great especially for the kids, there were small toys such as rubber ducks, balls and watering cans for children to play with and at intervals throughout the day the pool has waves which was fun! Who doesn’t love to try and jump over and swim through them!?

There are 4 very big and very fast slides…. suitable for 6 years and up. If you love to get your adrenaline going then you must try all 4, they were without a doubt the fastest and longest slides I have been on in the UK.

Inside near to the wave pool there is also a fabulous splash area with slides for the younger children to explore and play, Just beware of the big buckets above as they slowly fill and then drop!

There are some loungers inside so you can relax inside with a drink or a book if you don’t fancy the outdoor space.

Within the park you are able to use your wristband to purchase food & drinks, drinks can be consumed in the outdoor pools including a maximum of up to 3 alcoholic beverages for adults. The Food was very basic and in all honesty could do with some improvement, it would be great if the food matched the quality of the facilities, the prices were high for the quality.  My son had 4 chicken nuggets and chips it was £4.50 food wasn’t cooked to order so was just sat there it didn’t look appetising but he ate it all.

If you want to catch up with a friend, take the family or simply have abit of me time then Alpamare is the perfect destination. All the staff and lifeguards were lovely, and I know I have touched on the cleanliness but we whilst we visited there was literally no rubbish left around, the poolside areas were really tidy, the outdoor pools were extremely clean with no bugs or leaves etc… the lifeguards were always on hand to remove them should there be any.

The toilets, showers and changing facilities were all spotlessly clean & great quality, I mean how often do you get in the shower before entering the pool or after your swim and it actually be nice & warm the first time you turn it on! Throughout the changing area there are plenty of Hairdryers & mirrors scattered around and was changed and ready it was easy to pay and return your wristband once your session had finished.

After speaking with one of the staff I was extremely excited about the new ‘Spa’ they are currently working on and once this is up and running I would love to return and visit the Spa as it did feel almost like a mini Spa Experience even with the kids!

Overall it’s a fabulously clean, fresh, warm & quality attraction! 😀 We will definitely return! In fact…….. We cannot wait to return!

Get yourselves down and enjoy! 😀
